THE SENDING OF INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS TO THE MIDDLE EAST IS REOPENED

The sending of Indonesian Migrant Workers to the Middle East is reopened, with the implementation of new procedures for the placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) or Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Saudi Arabia.
The sending of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) or Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) to the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia has been opened as of October 1, however, the scheme for sending TKI is different from the previous ones.
This was conveyed by the head of the Placement and Protection of Workers, however, the green light for sending Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) is still waiting after the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Number 291 of 2018 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Through the One Channel Placement System (SPSK) Or One Channel System.
Implementation (SPSK) in Saudi Arabia is a pilot project or pilot that will later apply to other countries. The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziah explained, there are core matters regulated in Saudi Arabia (SPSK). He said that PMI will be placed according to supply and demand. In addition, there are only four placement areas, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and the Eastern Region, namely Dammam, Dahran, and Khobar.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made improvements to its policies and employment social security programs to increase the protection of foreign workers, starting from information, registration, and selection, placement, and repatriation which are under the control of the Indonesian government.
However, the one-channel placement system is implemented through a working relationship between Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and placement agencies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Syarikah). The placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) is carried out in stages since the launch of the One Channel Placement System (SPSK) and is adjusted to the availability and demand of Indonesian Migrant Workers for Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and the Eastern Region (Dammam, Dahran, Khobar).
